It´s New Dawn, Savant!
It’s a good thing Sonic Punter was founded three years ago and not thirty. It’s also a good thing that Mother Goose has managed to continue to play for thirty years, hiatus-free. Due to this, they are set to release a six song, split mini-LP manufactured at Helsinki’s all(most)-new vinyl pressing plant Puristamo on 12-inch vinyl. The title: New Dawn, Savant!
In the 80s and 90s, Finland had rock-police and village music chiefs with prejudiced ears. These fogeys held back the development of intellectual and romantic rock culture. There was also ruffianism. Times have changed. Now concert-goers are lovely and hundreds of them come to see Sonic Punter, as opposed to the few cautious and brave ones that would have had the band been around in the 80s.
For Mother Goose, playing music was a necessity and way of survival in a world of domineers. They have been forced to continue playing their outré music and hold up their ideas…and the time for love arrived: In these times, we laugh, cry and rejoice safely together. There is no need to fear any longer. Dancing is also allowed and encouraged.

It´s New Dawn, Savant!
Onneksi Sonic Punteria ei perustettu kolmekymmentä vuotta sitten, vaan kolme vuotta sitten. Ja onneksi Mother Goose on jaksanut soitella keskeytyksettä kolmekymmentäkolme vuotta. Mother Gooselta ja Sonic Punterilta ilmestyy tämän kunniaksi uudenkarheassa Helsingin Levypuristamossa valmistettu 12- tuumainen kuuden musiikkikappaleen split-minialbumi: New Dawn, Savant!
1980- ja 1990- luvuilla Suomessa oli rokkipoliiseja ja ennakkoluuloiset korvat omaavia kylämusiikkipäälliköitä. Nämä jäärät hidastivat älykkään ja romanttisen rock-musiikkikultturin kehittymistä. Oli myös äijäilyä. Niin ei ole enää. Nykyään ihmiset ovat ihania ja esimerkiksi Sonic Punterin keikoilla käy satoja ihmisiä, niiden muutamien varovaisten ja rohkeiden sijaan, jotka olisivat olleet heidän yleisönsä jo 1980-luvulla.

Mother Gooselle musiikin soittaminen oli välttämättömyys sekä selviytymiskeino määräilijöiden maailmassa. Heidän on ollut pakko jatkaa ja jaksaa omintakeisen musiikkinsa soittamista ja ideansa kannattelua… ja rakkauden aika tuli: Näinä aikoina Mother Goosen keikoilla nauretaan, iloitaan ja itketään turvallisesti yhdessä. Enää ei tarvitse pelätä. Tanssiakin saa ja pitää.

Here it comes! The long awaited new album. The recordings were performed some years ago, so they were given time to simmer a little. The material is rad, bluesy and as always, one-of-a-kind.
